Before we start in on the topic of Instagram, let us take a moment to clarify this posting. SDA wrote this blog a clear month prior to the Covid-19 lockdown. Times were still business as usual. Currently our staff is working 100{a74273ad0e75f200b46466b1415e6accc2aa46c9e4b9f352692bfad7dc0506c2} remotely per the guidelines for the state of California where we are located. We understand that many of you, maybe most, have a lot to juggle outside of marketing. We do too. But since everyone is home with maybe a little more time on their hands you just might have space to bring yourself up to speed on a few things like social media. Furthermore stats from Global Web Index show that social media interaction since the lockdown have increased some 50{a74273ad0e75f200b46466b1415e6accc2aa46c9e4b9f352692bfad7dc0506c2} on some platforms like Facebook and a staggering 96{a74273ad0e75f200b46466b1415e6accc2aa46c9e4b9f352692bfad7dc0506c2} on others like Tik Tok. That’s why we decided to post this informative blog on Instagram. Instagram, by-the-way, is a good platform to communicate with your customers right now too. So we hope you will find this blog on IG helpful. Wishing you good health and good businesses.

INSTAGRAM + YOU

I was talking to our millennial, twenty-something son about his consumer buying practices.

Me: “When you’re interested in buying something, or just familiarizing yourself with a company or product, do you go to their website or do you check them out on Instagram first?”

Him: “100 percent I go to Instagram first. Sometimes it takes awhile for websites to load, and even then you have to burrow in to get information. My phone’s in my hand and IG is an easy stop to search and check things out quickly.”

Me: “What about when you want to buy something?”

Him: “Then I go to the website, but first I always check it out on IG.”

Because of this thought process, SDA likes to share work we’ve done with our IG community so they get to know us and our clients better. How about this beautiful website we produced for Pacific Coast Capital?

If you’re not a dedicated social media person, you probably hear a lot of negative comments about social media. And to be fair, a lot of the chatter out there is correct. It’s just not all correct. Instagram is often described as a photo album – it is picture focused. You can peruse your feed (which you customize to your interests) without ever reading the comments, if you want. When you see something you’re interested in, then stop and stay awhile… Time for a new Kayak?

Or Maybe what you’re looking for is some skin care products with CBD?

You will find a variety of products and services literally at your fingertips. And these same principles apply to your business, products, and clients. Say for example your business is writing cookbooks and blogs about cooking, like Ina Garden, or Chrissy Teagan. Their Instagram feed is all pictures of things they’ve cooked. What a great place for other cooks to join in and get recipe ideas and hopefully decide to buy the cookbooks. Easy peasy.

If you’d like to see some of our designs or websites we’ve produced and more, take a look at our Instagram feed @sdacreativeinc. We like to share the things we create, so please join us and take a look. SDA Creative also keeps up on our clients, our suppliers, people and companies we admire, and yes, even our competitors by staying in touch with their IG feeds. You can do this too! Here’s a couple ways to get started and involved.

Start your Instagram page if you don’t have one. Add your logo, some iPhone pics of your products or you, and you are on your way. Already have a Instagram account but haven’t been active? No worries! Social media will forgive you. We like to recommend having regular, appealing posts as a start. For you, that might mean posting one a day, one a week even or one a month. Start with what you can and try to increase from there.

Not only can our designers create custom images for your IG page, like this one:

SDA Creative manages and maintains several accounts for our busy, successful clients who have other tasks they are handling. We work closely with you to keep your brand fresh, relevant and informative. So that is also an option. Don’t miss this opportunity to be available to your customers and potential customers. And by the way, it’s fun too. Why not have some fun while you’re at it?
